20 kitchen trends you should be aware of in 2018 by Lynn Winter

As the spring makes its first appearance this week, surely now is the perfect time to start thinking about introducing a fresh look to your home?

Here is a list of the top trends for kitchens, making a splash this season.

1. Colour and more colour

Although white will always be a popular and classic choice for kitchens, greys, blues and greens are fast becoming the colours of choice for homeowners wanting to create an interesting and welcoming space.

2. Gold and Copper

Why not give your kitchen an up to the minute glamorous look by opting for shimmering metallic finishes and accessories.

3. Two-toned cabinets

This is something we find is becoming increasing popular among our customers.  Instead of opting for one colour kitchen cabinetry, you can mix and match different shades and textures to create a stylish and unique design.

4. Moroccon style décor

Introducing patterned tiles, a shade of cashmere and pendant lighting can give your kitchen just a touch of Moroccan chic and create an inviting and warm space.

5. Broken plan Kitchens

The idea is to take an open plan area and add in a freestanding shelf unit or raised breakfast bar to create separation. This won’t be to everyone’s taste but it is a great way of creating different zones in your living space.
